Three Day Weekend Lodging Packages

Take some extra time to play in Wausau/Central Wisconsin with a Three Day Weekend lodging package! Pick any weekend and it can be a three day weekend for you. Hotels in the Wausau area are helping you make the most of your travel budget by offering Sunday free with a Friday and Saturday night stay. Started January 1, 2009, the lodging package called "Three Day Weekend" has been extended and will be available at nearly twenty different hotels in the Wausau area throughout 2010. Pay the regular published rate for Friday and Saturday night and Sunday night is free! Three Day Weekend is available every weekend in 2010. Call one of the participating hotels on the Accommodations Chart (download below) and tell them you're ready for a Three Day Weekend!

Three Day Weekend

This is an original program designed to turn ordinary weekends into "Three Day Weekends!" Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to enjoy a long weekend in the Wausau Area.

• Step One: Pick a Weekend.
• Step Two: Pick a participating lodging property from the 2010 Wausau/Central Wisconsin Accommodations Chart.
• Step Three: Call a minimum of seven days in advance of your Friday night arrival.
• Step Four: Announce that you are ready for a "Three Day Weekend" and make your reservation. We recommend calling as far out as possible to avoid sold out weekends.
• Step Five: Only necessary if a hotel is sold out of "Three Day Weekend" packages or sold out completely. Call another participating lodging property.
• Step Six: If you can't find a hotel with availability after calling three different hotels, call the Wausau/Central Wisconsin Convention & Visitors Bureau for help at 888-948-4748 or email at info@visitwausau.com.

See 2010 Wausau/Central Wisconsin Accommodations Chart for participating hotels and bed & breakfast inns. Participating properties are identified with a red square containing the letters "TDW." Each participating property has agreed to commit a minimum of 5% of its guest room inventory each weekend to offer the "Three Day Weekend" Package.

Lodging property agrees to offer the "Three Day Weekend" package which is a three night stay with arrival on Friday and departure on Monday. The package is a special rate where the guest pays the regular published weekend rate for Friday and Saturday nights and receives Sunday night for free.

To book a "Three Day Weekend," call a participating lodging property and tell them you are ready for a "Three Day Weekend." The "Three Day Weekend" package is based on availability and hotels may be sold out of rooms on certain peak weekends during the year. For best results, make reservations as far in advance as possible. See attached sheet for a current chart of sold out weekends for each participating hotel.

Participating lodging properties agree to provide last room availability up to seven days in advance of arrival date until the property is sold-out of "Three Day Weekend" packages or sold out of rooms completely. On Saturdays, "Three Day Weekend" package inventory can be released for the following weekend.

Restrictions to the Three Day Weekend

• Three Day Weekend (TDW) packages are non-commissionable.
• The TDW package is based on regular published weekend rates.
• The TDW package is not available with any other specials or discounts (i.e. AARP, AAA, etc.).
• The TDW package may or may not earn Frequent Guest Program/Loyalty Program points based on individual hotel franchise program rules.
• TDW packages are required to be booked a minimum of seven days in advance (some hotels may waive this rule).
• TDW packages are not available for walk-in reservations (some hotels may waive this rule).
• Lodging properties may increase TDW room inventory for any weekend at its discretion. 
• Lodging properties can limit the number of rooms booked under the TDW program to three rooms per individual reservation for any given week.
